As pessoas com necessidades especiais necessitam principalmente de indivíduos que num acto de amor, lhes possam doar o seu tempo e ajudá-los a sentirem-se amados e mais integrados na nossa sociedade" - disse o Vasco. O Vasco tem feito o seu SVE na La Zubia, Espanha e gosta muito esta experiência. Aqui estão as fotos de todos os trabalhos que ele fez com a sua organização de acolhimento até agora. 

First days of EVS in ViverTelheiras in Lisbon

Here we are! After several years, when our interest in joining EVS increased day by day, the time has come quickly, and now we are (again for one of us) in Lisbon, our current home and the beginning point of this personal experience.

We are Maria and Isabel, from Galicia and León, two Spanish volunteers who arrived with our baggage full of illusion and willingness to experience or EVS almost two weeks before.
Lisboa was the home of María during her Erasmus in 2008-2009, a place which brings her new experiences, the lightly and charming city which made her grew and lent her an unforgettable remember.
"After this period, I felt that I had to come back again, because one part of me belongs to Lisbon and I had to feel it again, keep on growing. As soon as I had time, I came here to visit Lisbon”.

The first days we familiarize with our flatmates, they are all volunteers from Spin, and day by day they are becoming our Portuguese family. We like to share our points of view and also interests (going out, watch films or have birthday dinner) in Anjos, a multicultural neighborhood close to the city center, where coffee bar, cultural centers and people from all over the world live. We couldn't wait to walk through Lisbon, we did the first day! :)

 Our first Monday we meet the new volunteers and Spin and we had a meeting to know more about Spin and Carnide, the region where our projects will take place. We are happy to start our EVS in ViverTelheiras, an organization which promotes cultural and economical growthness between the residents of Telheiras, the institutions and local businesses.

Luis, Felipe and Clara organized to us several dynamic games to meet each others as well as the neighborhood, therefore, we joined a funny paddy paper: a list of questions surrounding Telheiras, with curiosites about the neighborhood. It was exhausting but worth it!

Within a few hours Luis, Felipe and Clara made us feel part of the team in their space, our home :) (sharing with lettuces, tomatoes and bananas!) thanks to the networking with ReFood, an organization which collet food from restaurants, shops and give to less source-families, and they let us stay in their space. It is a great initiative! :)

People received us with a big smile and soon we are going to organize the Telheiras festival, a big event which take place the 4th to 11th May, so you are invited! By the way, we have started to know more about the project and defining our tasks.
Soon we will meet all volunteers in Portugal at On arrival training, where we will have a training about our rol as volunteers, our skills and how to get the best to this experience.

To sum up, our expectations are very positive about this experience which it has already started!

Os meus primeiros dias de SVE na Spin

Olá! Chamo-me Carolina e sou italiana e agora faz quase duas semanas que cheguei em Lisboa para começar o meu SVE. Antes de partir sabia que ia gostar muito, como já fiquei em Portugal durante o meu Erasmus e foram meses incríveis onde tive a possibilidade de encontrar pessoas simpáticas e visitar um país maravilhoso. Agora vai ser diferente como terminei os estudos e vou fazer uma experiência de trabalho, mas na mesma quero aproveitar do que esta cidade oferece. 

Os primeiros dias no escritório foram, claro, de conhecimento e ambientação. O primeiro dia encontramos todos os novos voluntários das outras organizações, temos aprendido a historia da Spin e foram visitar o bairro onde vamos trabalhar nos próximos 9 meses, o Bairro Padre Cruz.

Tivemos a oportunidade de organizar o evento “ginjinha” onde vamos encontrar-nos com os voluntarios, os mentores e os coordinadores do projeto e vamos fazer actividades e jogos para conhecer-nos e, claro, vamos beber ginginha todos juntos. 

Na primeira semana ainda não tivemos muita responsabilidade, ainda tivemos de perceber o que é que precisamente vamos fazer e por isso tivemos duas reuniões com a Sara e a Aneta onde também foram explicadas as futuras actividades da Spin. Eu quero ter mais experiência nos projetos europeus e então comecei à ler o guia Erasmus + e o primeiro projeto da Spin. Também ajudamos em arrumar o escritório assim agora conhecemos melhor. Nos últimos dias já falamos sobre as nossas tarefas na organização do campo de feiras e do seminário.

Esta aventura apenas é começada!

First days of EVS in Lisbon (Tom Green).

On January 24th 2015 I arrived in Lisbon to start my journey as a new EVS volunteer at Associação Spin. My project commenced properly on February 9th, but my early arrival allowed me to take some time to familiarise myself with my new surroundings before the project started. I instantly noticed the contrasts between my home country of Wales , and my new home that was now Lisbon. I had left my home in its winter state, murky skies and short cold days. Lisbon seemed so different. I didn’t feel like I had travelled only 2h30m on a short EasyJet flight from my local airport of Liverpool. I saw the bright blue skies and was instantly jolted with the nostalgic thought that summer was on the way.

Lisbon so far has been extremely welcoming. I have done many travels in the past, but the folk of Lisbon are so easy to warm to. Since my arrival I have been treated to some of the local culinary delights that Lisbon has to offer. Whether it is a little Bifana from a street cafe or perhaps some homemade Bacalhau, the city has something to offer any taste. Arriving in a new city and country made me realise what I take for granted when I’m at home, simple things like setting up a mobile phone, finding the metro station I need for work and learning the language are some of the challenges that have arisen.

The first day of my placement was a fun greeting session. We met with all the volunteers that are being coordinated by Spin at the office in Bairro Padre Cruz, on the very edge of Lisbon. It was an enjoyable day, with a full explanation of Spin´s origins, current programs and what the future holds. During the lunch hour we all sat outside and ate together in the sunshine. I have always enjoyed meeting people from all over Europe, so this was a great occasion for that. During my first few days at Spin, I was shown around the complex. This gave an insight into the different departments of the organization, from the office, the hostel and our partners. A meeting was conducted which showed us how the tasks where dictated each day, and how we are supposed to log down our progress. The first tasks included familiarising ourselves with the systems in place at Spin, also creating an email account specifically for the job. One of my first tasks was an English language check-over of a recipe book created by a former international exchange held by Spin. It was interesting to read the dishes and find out more about European tastes. I already have some tasks laid out for the coming days at Spin, including a session organized with the local community to converse in English with them. Spin is involved in some exciting projects, and it feels great to be apart of this for the next 9 months. I’m looking forward to my time in Lisbon, and the learn more about what it’s like to be apart of a NGO like Spin. Adeus!

Oito meses maravilhosos da minha vida - o testemunho do Emilio sobre o seu SVE em Associação SPIN em Lisboa

Já estou em casa, na minha casa de Espanha mas em Lisboa deixei também outra casa, e o mais importante, outra familía.

Foi num día 5 de junho que cheguei a Lisboa, na verdade sem saber muito bem como sería o meu futuro lá. O Álvaro (um dos meus irmãos, também voluntário) estava á minha espera no aeroporto. Esse mesmo dia apresentou-me ao resto da equipa SPIN, que sería a Associação na que trabalharia esses meses. A Sara, a Aneta, a Kasia, o Enric, a Zosia e o Gonzalo, todos eles/as foram meus colegas!

Descreber que é um Serviço Voluntário Europeu é algo que só aqueles que o temos feito podemos fazer, mas também e verdade que cada experiência é uma história diferente. Há tantos voluntariados como voluntários mas todos únicos.

Eu posso falar do meu, e dividi-lo em dois. O Voluntariado professional e o pessoal (o máis íntimo, o da experiência vital).

O primeiro correu muito bem. Tive uns colegas inmelhoráveis que sempre tiveram paciência quando não conseguia fazer qualquer nova tarefa. Aprendí deles, descubrí o mundo das assoaciações e o trabalho que nelas se faz. Também o trabalho em equipa e a importância da coordenação quando se quer um trabalho bem feito. A nossa organicação trabalha muito com projetos europeus, com formações internacionais e com intercámbios. Participei de tudo isto e de outras muitas atividades em parceria com outras Associações como Ginga Brasil, instituicoes como a Junta de Freguesia de Carnide, a nossa principal parceira, e conheci muitos portugueses e portuguesas com os que partilhei as vezes trabalho e as vezes amizade.

O meu próprio voluntariado deu para namorar, para desiludir, para fazer amigos e amigas que durarão para toda a vida (o Marcos, a Lidia, a Natalia, a María, o Tiziano e a Laura, o Anteo, o Tomasso e a Erica entre outros muitos) e sobre tudo para conheçer um país e uma língua que já fazem parte de mim.

Há muitas mais coisas que poderia dizer mas prefiro guardar algo para mi. Finalmente só dizer que fui feliz, que foi uma das melhores decições da minha vida e que já tenho saudades mas agora inicio uma nova etapa que acho também será muito boa. Se alguém esta a dúvidar em fazer um SVE ou não, a minha resposta é e sempre será sim.

Testemunho do Álvaro sobre o seu SVE em Lisboa na Associação Spin

Se bem me lembro, a miha intenção pessoal e profissional foi sempre criar, através de palavras, gestos ou ações; uma leve vibração na mente das pessoas que seja causa, direta ou indireta, duma melhoria no seu bem-estar e felicidade.  Este foi o meu objetivo no Bairro Padre Cruz e em Carnide quando eu cheguei. Finalmente, meu EVS na Spin permitiu-me chegar até as mentes de pessoas de diferentes países.

Os que já me conhecem sabem que me tenho em muita estima e que gosto de fazer as coisas de forma diferente aos outros, é por isso que não é uma surpresa para eles que esteja a falar do que eu contribuí ao EVS e não ao contrario.  Mas a combinação foi justa, eu também levo uma armadura de recursos (não estou a falar das canetas que roubei), competências e aprendizagens que estou já a aproveitar.

No âmbito pessoal o trato também foi justo, o EVS deu-me uma família e eu contribuí com uma ovelha negra para esta família. Ainda lembro-me dos primeiros meses quando voltava de festa  de dia e os outros voluntários brincavam comigo, “Alvaro acordou na Suiça”. Muitos uniram-se a estas aventuras-não sempre fomos o melhor exemplo menin@s (ou sim, fomos)-.

Ainda tenho de pagar a dívida que há anos contraí com esta cidade, já pago-te daqui a pouco. Entre tanto fica, mais uma vez, com estas palavras:
“Lisboa é, em qualquer caso, uma cidade admirável, lenta, uma cidade que sempre está de olho em outra parte. Como uma criança que esta a mirar desde a coberta dum barco. Como alguém a segurar uma carta antes de meter a carta na caixa de correio, algo que ainda está aqui e ao mesmo tempo fica muito longe...  por alguma razão, em Lisboa, pensa-se em coisas que não fazem sentido fora de Lisboa.”

Testemunho da Bruna sobre curso de formação no Chipre

Olá a todos!
Estou muito feliz por ter participado no ERAMUS + training course "Re-Action" que decorreu entre os dias 16 e 23 de Novembro, em Larnaca, no Chipre.

"Re-Action teve a colaboração de 10 ONGs dos seguinte países: Croácia, Chipre, Republica Checa, Dinamarca, Alemanha, Itália, Noruega, Portugal, Roménia e Turquia. Neste projecto, 23 participantes juntaram-se na calorosa e bela Ilha do Chipre durante 7 dias intensos de partilha e aprendizagem sobre os temas de desenvolvimento sustentável, direitos humanos e cidadania activa. Através de diferentes actividades baseadas na educação não formal foi-nos possível analisar como estes 3 tópicos estão interligados entre si. Podem ver um resumo do projecto neste vídeo realizado pelo Neven Petrović.

Quero desde já expressar a minha gratidão: à Spin, à PlanBe, Plan it Be it, ao Graziano Tullio e a todos os participantes da “Re-Action” por esta excelente semana em que fiquei mais rica por todos os momentos de aprendizagem, partilha e por todo o amor que recebi de cada um de vós.
